Another Great Tournament
The 2010 Paul Hominick Memorial Golf Tournament took place Sept 11 at Tamarack Ridge golf course in Putnam. The tournament has been going on since the year after Uncle Paul passed away and all the money raised goes to a scholarship fund for students at IDCI where all of us (incl Uncle Paul, Aunt Marie, Dad and Mom) went to school.
This year, we had 22 teams participating and a great sunny day. The Masters Team took top prize with ringers Uncle Ron Reesor and Paul Henderson leading the way! The boobie prize went to Nancy P's team and the Gilbert clan livened up the auction bidding - this year it was Kerry though, not Kathy.
Mark made it home from his training out in Vegas in the nick of time to be there and I drove in from Ottawa. Andrea, Jason and Dad did a super job of organizing the event, and a big thanks to Kelly for handling the registration table.
The tournament is an awesome way to remember my fun-loving, extravagent Uncle Paul who's life was all about spending time with family and friends. Tamarack is the course where he shot a hole-in-one on #8 so it is very fitting to hold the tournament there (that, and the feast they provide is fantastic!). We all miss him and coming together at the tournament to celebrate his life is something I look forward to every year.
Next year's tournament date is set as the second Saturday in September - mark your calendars!
