A Visit Home
April is here! Bring on the flowers and nice weather because I am ready for the coldness to end.
I decided to play tag with Mom and Dad and go home for the first weekend of the month. So now they are it and have to come back and see me! I took off a couple hours early from work on Friday and made pretty good time to Thamesford. Mom and Dad didn't know I was coming and had gone out (the nerve! lol) to the races but Susan, Alec and Leah were home so I was able to spend a couple hours with them before I collapsed in bed at 10pm. The long drive really does me in.
The rest of the weekend was filled with family and friends. Mom and I had Leah on Saturday morning and I was finally able to try out the pram when we went for a walk over to see Ashley and Mark. Leah is getting so big and she's walking all over the place and starting to talk... I miss so much it seems. She can tell you what a duck says if you ask her: "kack kack" - pretty smart for girl who just turned one years old!
Saturday afternoon was Andrea Clark's wedding shower in Woodstock. Mom and I had a great time visiting with old friends and seeing the Clark family. Andrea's wedding is in May and I can't wait to see her walk down the aisle. She is going to be one stunning bride. I had a great visit with Rachel Fraser (House), Jayne Knott, Brittany Travis, and other close high school friends who I hadn't seen in awhile.
Saturday evening was family dinner and games at Mom & Dad's with Susan, Alec and Grandma (Leah was there too but she didn't play). I got smoked in dominos but it was a fun time.
Saturday night I found myself at Rachel Fraser's (House) house and then to Eric Kuzcko's stag and doe at the arena. It was great to catch up with friends there and hang out with Michelle and Rachel before hand.
Sadly, I had to go back to Ottawa on Sunday around noon. I manaaged to get a visit in with Tori and Jackie in the morning before hitting the road. It was my fastest trip back at under 5 and a half hours - the roads were clear and the sun was shining so it was a good driving day.
That was my last visit home from Ottawa as my next trip will be a permanent one - yes folks, I am coming back! xo
