A Great Long Weekend
The Lockhart families started the month off with a trip up to Muskoka to the Peden cottage. With Aunt Marie's retirement celebration on Friday night and me returning from Thunder Bay that afternoon, we left bright and early on October 1st - Saturday morning. Mom, Dad and I travelled up together and Susan, Alec and Leah arrived later that day. The day was bright and sunny and we made it to the cottage in under 5 hours in the convertible. It was a might chilly in the cottage but Dad soon got the fire going and I think by the time I went to bed, with my electric heater, flannel sheets and duvet, I was warm enough to sleep... haha. I'll never complain of being too hot.
The rest of the weekend was great! Total relaxation mode. We played with Leah, played a lot of cards and games and hung out in the cottage reading and chatting. The weather wasn't too warm or sunny but there were some good moments and it really didn't bother us. I got in some good walks in the morning and saw 4 deer! I'm like the deer whisperer lately... Leah woke us up around 7:30am most morning with "Mama! Mama!" then once Susan was up and about we'd hear "Al! Al!" She has heard Mom calling Dad Al and now she's started doing the same thing... so funny. That little girl is smart as a whip and she picks up on things very quickly. You have to watch your mouth around her for sure.
We had out Thanksgiving meal on Monday since Mom and Dad would be staying up at the cottage through Thanksgiving weekend. Susan, Alec, Leah and I headed home on Tuesday.
I spent some time down by the lake getting some photographs that I'm hoping to blow up onto canvas for my living room artwork. I've included a few on here and some of Leah of course!
