Appleland!
Susan, Rebecca, Leanna, Leah and I went to Appleland on Friday of the long weekend. Leanna was the perfect age for it and she "helped" pick the apples and put them in the bag with me. I hadn't been to Appleland for a long time but it's a pretty great place for families. They have a train that runs out to the orchard and back and a little petting area with farm animals, a playground and sandbox area, and every type of apple you can imagine to pick. The best ones were definitely the golden delicous and granny smith but we found some nice red ones too and filled up our apple bag pretty quickly. We took a quick look around the store and bought a few treats there. Just before we got in the car, we realized Leah had grabbed a bracelet while we were in there - whoops! Susan took it back in of course but as Rebecca said, "Don't worry, Leanna's stolen things before too."
A great day altogether and I cannot wait for the new little Linkowicz girl too arrive next month!

All About Family & Friends
The rest of my weekend was mainly spent with family and friends - the way Thanksgiving is meant to be. I had dinner with a couple university friends and met up with Allie for coffee Sunday morning. Mom and I treated ourselves to a great dinner out at the Elmhurst on Saturday night and Sunday Thanksgiving dinner with Susan, Alec, Grandma, Mom and Dad was great! I also got lots of Leah and Susan time and spent a few hours with Andrea and the girls. The Hominick contingency, Dave and Alison came over after dinner on Sunday night and Monday morning before I left town we had a family (Mom, Dad, Susan and I) game of cards which is one of my favorite family pastimes and a great way to finish off the weekend.
The drive back to Ottawa Monday was great. The weather was sunny and the scenery was beautiful with the changing leaves on the trees. But best of all was that I had a passenger - Tom Crossman, a Thamesford native who goes to Carleton - to keep me company and make the drive go so much faster!
It was back to reality Tuesday morning as I settled into my office in Ottawa. The next few weeks are going to be hectic at work but then things will ease off in November.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend!
