Love is in the Air...
Valentines Day.
When you're single in the city, you don't look at Valentines as much of a holiday but being the die-hard romantic that I am (please read the sarcasm in that comment), I still celebrated the day.
I sent (well put on their desks) everyone at work a Toy Story Valentine complete with a temporary tattoo of Buzz, Woody and the gang and I baked some Valentine-themed cookies that were gobbled down with the morning coffee run in no time flat! Yvon gave the four ladies in the office each a chocolate bouquet of roses as you can see in the picture. He's such a sweetheart!
I did receive a couple of Valentines cards in the mail - thanks Mom, Dad, and Grandma! (Grandma's even included $20 - woot-woot!) I also sent about 30 Valentines cards out to my friends and family last week so hopefully everyone received them too.
I was walking the dog at around 5pm onValentine's evening and I lost count of the number of young guys carrying bouquets of flowers as they rushed home from work... Nothing like some roses to win over a girl's heart (although I have heard that jewlery tends to get a better response...)
Jenn's love interest is long distance so she and I shared Oliver as our special Valentine. Jenn did, however, make a Valentine-themed dinner (well as far as colour goes) of shrimp and couscous in a sauce with ricotta cheese and marinara combined - it was delicious! And I obviously indulged in a chocolate heart or two because even us single girls need a little Valentines love!
Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!
