The Merry Wives of Windsor
Last Saturday I headed to Stratford to meet my university girls (who are still in Ontario) for a play at the Festival Theatre. I was definitely the lucky one who had the shortest drive to Stratford from Thamesford - some of the girls came from as far away as Ajax which is a good 2 hour drive. We strategized and bought our tickets through the Rush seats (so 2 hours before the play starts) for $25 each! An awesome deal especially considering that the theatre was not full and we ended up being able to move to a better section anyways.
If you've never heard of the Merry Wives of Windsor, it's a Shakespeare play and involves the two wives teaching their husbands and a rogue suitor a lesson. There are some clever ploys carried out by the women and of course they come out on top :) Jesus Christ Superstar is also playing in Stratford right now and it has gotten rave reviews in the papers and other media. I'm going to get there yet, but it was sold out last Saturday.
After the play we spent some time hanging out down by the water in front of the theatre. You can see us posing there in the picture - Amanda has a pretty awesome camera so the pictures look pretty great - the subjects are pretty great too!
Have a safe and happy Canada Day weekend! I am heading off to Boston for a long weekend away - I know not very patriotic of me but I'll celebrate July 4th like an American to make up for it. Until next time....
