November is Here!
Wow! October seemed to go by in a blur of work, work and more work... well, that and the skydiving I guess :)
November has arrived and the start of winter will be here soon. So far, the month has started off relatively warm and no snow since Halloween which is great!
November brings some important days with it... Remembrance Day for one which is a major ceremony here on Parliament Hill. Susan's birthday!!! Martha Peden's introduction into the bar (i.e. Martha is now a lawyer!) Mom's and my trip to San Francisco. And most importantly for Mom, corn season ends and she gets her husband back!!!
My first week of November has been pretty fun. I posed for my friend Steph's photography class - she had to capture a number of different lighting techniques and the pictures were pretty awesome - she is a super camerawoman! I attended a training seminar on how to make effective presentations and was described as "endearing" and someone they "could listen to for hours." I was pretty happy with that critique. I also tried my hand at making soup for the first time and it turned out great! I did butternut squash soup with a carrot salad and Melody supplied the bread and wine et voila - Le souper etait pret! I also met the Nerd Elvis from Nerds'on-Site who spent an incredible 6 hours at my place this week fixing my laptop which I must say is working like a dream but perhaps Elvis could have cut his time in half had he not insisted on showing me his favorite YouTube video of a girl playing the piano and pitures of his friend's restaurant's main dishes... I had never been happier when Elvis left the building.
Hockey season has also started in full swing now so avoid the 417 at all costs on game nights...
I'm looking forward to another great month and sadly, will not be making it to Thamesford at all but Christmas is not too far off and there's always Skype, telephone and emails to keep in touch.
