It's Not A Latte
So lately I've jumped on the bandwagon with the Tim and Second Cup cards. Who needs change when you can just walk into the coffee shop and swipe your card? It makes me feel like every coffee I buy is free! This is all well and good until you go into Tim's with just your Tim card, order your coffee and discover that the bottomless pit of Tim money doesn't really exist and your are less than the required $1.52 you need for your large coffee... "Excuse me while I run to my car and get some money" as the line of 10 people behind you glares in disapproval... oops! Maybe I should set up the auto-reload system so I don't anger the caffeine-deprived masses again. Lesson learned.
Golf Season Begins!
I got out for my first game of golf last week with my co-worker Andrew (I know what you're thinking and the answer is no). The course wasn't in great shape, but it was awesome to play and I had some great drives, some really bad putts and a lot of fun! Ottawa has a number of public courses so I'm going to try to get out once a week at least and keep up my game. I miss my golf partners Lindsay and Dad, but golfing here might be the perfect way to meet some young eligible men... hmmm.
A Throwback to the 90's
Ducks Ducks Ducks Ducks! Quack Quack Quack Quack!
Who doesn't remember and love the Mighty Ducks? Joshua Jackson in his pre-Pacey days as Charlie the team hero in the first Mighty Ducks movie. My friends and I decided to have a 3-week Mighty Ducks Marathon to watch D1, D2, and D3. We all admitted that our childhood crushes on the players (Banks was my fav) were pretty pathetic. Banks did eventually grow into his nose by D3 but he's no match to Pacey. Next up - Camp Nowhere - Andrew Keagan in his prime :)

Have U Heard?
I was at Shoppers Drug Mart last week and got a package of Werthers. When I got to the checkout, the clerk rang them in and the price came up at $2.49 and I knew the tag on the shelf had said $1.99. Normally, I wouldn't say anything about the price of something small, but there was no one behind me in line and I had time so, channeling my inner Bob Barker, I asked the girl if the price was right? She went over and looked at the tag and agreed with me that yes, they were ringng up incorrectly. She called up her manager to get some assistance with getting me the difference and he informed us that by law, they have to give you the product for free if the price is marked wrong! Sweeeeeet! (no pun intended)

A Novel Idea
I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I have some of the greatest friends in the world. Not only do they know me very well (and still want to hang out with me!) but they are also amazing, thoughtful people. So you can imagine how thrilled I was to receive a package from Amazon in the mail last week with a book that I was interested in reading, from my friend Allie. I know we talked briefly about the book the last time we were together and being the thoughtful person she is, Allie had it sent to me. Earlier this year, my other awesome friend Melanie from Calgary sent me a book as well that she knew I would like with the intention that I could take it with me to the coffee shop to read and relax. Relaxing isn't exactly my forte but I have gone once and taken her advice and the fact that she was caring enough to send the book with those intentions made me feel great!
Wedding #1 - Lisa & Nate
I've reached the age where my friends are starting to settle down, buy houses, and get married (i.e. become adults). While I am clearly not anywhere near that point (sorry Mom!) I love celebrating all of these special times with them. Lisa and Nate's wedding took place at the Elmhurst last weekend. I made it home from Ottawa Friday night after work via Via and flew back on Sunday (plane, trains, and automobiles). Tori came as my date and it was good to get caught up with a lot of old friends. Lisa looked beautiful and it was a great night!
PS: WestJet pilot's joke of the day: What did the hat say to the coat rack? You stay here and I'll go on ahead! hahaha
