It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!
Wow! December is here and what a HUGE month this is going to be for the Lockhart family.
Mark "the Machine" will be making his second appearance in Toronto at UFC 140 on December 10th. Fighting againtst the Korean Zombie, Mark is the favorite but this guy is no slouch either. My family along with Grandma, Aunt Marie and Raeya will be watching the fight at Mom and Dad's place. Why you may ask are we not going to Toronto... Well, that's because of the next great event in the month - Susan and Alec's new baby!!!!! Susan is due anytime and we all decided that staying home in case this is the weekend our new bundle of joy arrives. I was in Ottawa when Leah was born and there is no way that I'm missing the birth of my little nephew (Yes, it's a boy!!!), Christmas is going to be awesome. We'll have 5 little ones on the Rinn side and a 95-year span in ages... pretty unbelieveable.
So what else does this month bring?? Well, I co-coordinated the community canned food drive "Caroling for Cans", I have two and a half weeks off over the holidays to get refreshed and spend time with my family and friends, Christmas Open Houses and parties to attend, and many other great things I'm sure as the holiday season is always filled with joy.
My house is continuing to come along, Dad picked up and assembled (because he's the best Dad ever) my long-awaited for electric fireplace this week which looks great and really brings the living room together with that cozy, homey feeling. I have decorated for Christmas with a little 4-foot tree and other Christmas decor around the main areas. I got two little porch Christmas trees and Dad is helping me string lights along the roof this week. He also made two wooden snowmen for my front lawn which look really cute and suit the front very well.
Mom and I spent this morning baking at my house and then later in the afternoon at their house doing pastry. I love holiday baking and it's always god to have things on hard for when people pop over. Speaking of Mom, she also picked me up a Tassimo when I was up in Gravenhurst last week (did I mention I have the best Mom ever too?) and I am loving making my personal cups of coffee, tea, lattes, etc without wasting a pot of coffee or having instant.
So I would say that this month has definitely started on the right foot. Now, if Mark can just win his fight and Susan can have a healthy baby this week, we'll be set!

PS: Is my niece not the most adorable little creature in the world??
