Summer BBQing
If there's one great thing about the summer it's that we can cook dinner every night on the barbeque. I have little experience using a barbeque but this past month I've been getting lessons from dear old Dad on the ins and outs of his barbeque. But last Saturday, the BBQ was hosted by Lindsay and Nic Timmers so I was able to enjoy Nic's grilling.
There was about 12 of us over at the Timmers' place plus two little ones - Leah Lockhart and Aidan Prouse.- so cute as you can see in the pictures Leah giving Aidan a kiss (open-mouthed - kinda weird - kids...). Everyone contributed to the great food selection - I brought Cheryl's potato salad which is always a hit. Nicole brought some pretty amazing cheesecake creations in about 7 different flavours.. I don't know how long those took to prepare but they were delicious!
There was also a rousing backyard game which involved throwing a rope about 2 feet long that had two golf balls on either end of it and trying to land it on a stand that was placed across the lawn. You play in partners and you each toss 3 of these ropes across and try to earn points by landing on one of the levels of the stand. It's simiar to horseshoes but easier. The first team to 21 points wins. Lindsay and Katie seemed to dominate the game. The rest of us did alright too but they were the champs.
Another fun night with friends - thats what summer's all about!
